Luz Elena Saucedo

Luz Saucedo, age 47 of Gatesville, passed away on the afternoon of December 28, 2020 surrounded by her family. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, January 4, 2021 at Hemmeline Cemetery. There will be a come and go visitation from noon till 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 4, 2021 at Scott’s Funeral Home.

Luz was born on September 18, 1973 in Piedras Negras Mexico to Ruben Zarate and Maria Herlinda Uribe. She grew up and attended school in Mexico. In February of 2002 she married Juan Saucedo in Gatesville. Luz was the true definition of “Homemaker”. She loved her family and took great pride and joy in caring for them. Luz was an excellent cook and enjoyed very much preparing meals for her family. She was always happy, and her happiness was contagious for those around her. She was a very good wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ruben Zarate Sr. and brother, Ruben Zarate Jr.

Luz is survived by her husband of 18 years, Juan Saucedo; mother, Maria Herlinda Uribe; sons, Juan Ruben Castillo, Andres Hervey Rosales and Lucio Saucedo; daughter, Klaira Yaresi Saucedo; grandchildren, Ruben Xavier Castillo, Luis Alexander Castillo and Leon Miguel Castillo; sister, Rosalinda Aralleno; brother, Jose Luis Zarate
