Alphine L. Gallaway

Alphine L. Gallaway, 85, of Gatesville, passed away on January 8, 2011 in Gatesville. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Scott’s Funeral Home with private burial at Restland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Monday evening at the funeral home. Alphine was born on December 30, 1925 in Coryell County to the late George and Maude Barton Loer. She graduated from Gatesville High School in 1945. Alphine had a beautiful yard, loved gardening and was an excellent seamstress. She was also a faithful Dallas Cowboy fan. She retired from Walls and from Smead in McGregor at the age of 78. Alphine was a Girl Scout leader when her children were younger. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Wendell M. Evetts and Wilbur L. Gallaway; 2 brothers and 2 sisters; daughter, Glenda Ortega; grandsons, Jimmy Lloyd Ochoa and Gregory Scott Ochoa. Alphine is survived by her children, Jimmy H. Evetts and wife Sharon, Shirley J. Evetts Davidson, Brenda Jones, Lloyd “Buster” Gallaway; step daughters, Patricia Wendeborn and husband Gary, Trudy Pancake; sister, Mary Manning; brother, Eugene Loer and wife Martha Lou, Cois Wayne Loer; grandchildren, Michelle Hunt, Tony Ochoa, Jeramiah Jones, Jessica Ochoa, Krissy Armstrong, Lewis Ortega; step grandchildren, Brian Wendeborn, Eric Wendeborn, Janice Smith; 8 great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and lots of friends.
