Archie Ray Cox

Archie Ray Cox, 69, of Gatesville, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011. A Memorial Graveside Services will be held at 12 PM on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Archie was born on December 2, 1941 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Waldo and Hershel Frierson Cox. Archie graduated from Bay St. Louis High School in 1960. He received his nursing degree from Northwestern State University and a Masters degree in Hospital Administration from Central Michigan University. He served in the United State Army as a licensed Nurse Practitioner and retired as Major after 21 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister; Patricia Cox. Survivors include his son; Russ Andrew Cox and wife Christi, daughter; Crystal Raye Campbell and husband Wesley, grandchildren; Kylie Jo Cox and Kase Andrew Cox, brother; Tom Cox and wife Kay and two nephews and one niece.
