Janet Mary Lapp

Janet Mary Lapp, age 78 of Gatesville, formerly of Long Beach, CA, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2011 in Gatesville, going home with the Lord. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Gatesville. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M on Monday at the church. Mrs. Lapp was born on April 2, 1932 in Cedarburg, WI to the late Conrad and Cecelia Scheer Fisher. She married Peter Bernard Lapp, Jr. on October 24, 1955 in Fairbanks, Alaska. They had been married 53 years when he preceded her in death on September 7, 2008. She was a Foster Mother who took care of 75+ girls over the years. Janet enjoyed traveling and fishing, was an avid crafter, and was very active in her church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son Jeffrey Lapp. Janet is survived by a son, Michael Lapp of Florida; daughters, Linda Bensema of Houston and Debbie McLaughlin of Georgia; sisters, Delores, Donna Mae, Ellen, and Beverly all of Wisconsin; a brother, Conrad Fisher, Jr. of Wisconsin ; 8 grandchildren, which included a special relationship with her granddaughter, Amber Bensema; and 4 great grandchildren.
