Juanita Fleming

Juanita Fleming, age 98, of Gatesville, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at a local nursing center. Services are scheduled for 3:30 PM Friday, February 18, 2011 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel in Gatesville. Burial will follow at Turnersville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Juanita was born September 21, 1912 in the Elijah community of Coryell County. She was the daughter of the late M.M. “Bud” and Pauline Edwards Manning. She was raised and attended school at Maple. She married Mr. Charles M. Fleming on December 17, 1932 and they continued to make their home in Coryell County all their married life. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1996. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include daughters; Christine Esparza, Charlotte Latham, Margie Cline, Mable Bush, son; Norris Fleming, half-sister; Janell Manning, half-brother; Joe Walker Manning, 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
