Erna Mae Mitchell

Erna Mae Mitchell, age 96, of Gatesville, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011 at a local nursing center. Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Erna Mae was born October 20, 1914 in Pearl, Texas. She was the daughter of the late William and Octavia Ann Smith Bynum. She worked for W. T. Hix Appliance Store. Erna married Buford Mitchell on August 6, 1949. They were married for over 50 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and three brothers. Survivors include sister; Lendal Lippert of Waco, brother; Charles (Buster) Bynum of Waco and several nieces and nephews.
