Ruby Burt Perkins

Ruby Burt Perkins, age 101, of Gatesville, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011 at a local nursing center. Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, May 9, 2011 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Murphree Cemetery in Evant. The family will receive visitors from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Scott's Funeral Home in Gatesville. Ruby was born September 19, 1909, in Coryell County. She was the daughter of Charles Franklin Marshall and Mary Elizabeth Millsap Marshall. She was preceded in death by her husband James Perkins, parents, one daughter, one son, four brothers and three sisters. Survivors include daughter, Dorothy Tatum and husband Wade of Gatesville; son, Billy Burt of Caryville, Florida; son-in-law, Joe Patterson of Pearl; brother, M. K. (Jiggs) Marshall and wife Cleo of Gatesville; stepchildren, Sheldon Perkins and wife Belva and Eldon Perkins all of Evant; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
