Vivian LaVetta Davis

Vivian LaVetta Davis, age 79, of Gatesville, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at The Welcome Room at Coryell Memorial Hospital. Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Sam Schreffler and Jim Gossnell officiating. Burial will follow at Perry Methodist Cemetery in Perry, Texas. The family will receive visitors from 9 to 10 AM prior to the service. LaVetta was born January 17, 1932 in Pearl, Texas. She was the daughter of William Alvis Davis and Hattie Ruth DeLoach Davis. LaVetta was a life long member of the Church of the Nazarene. LaVetta worked for HEB in Austin for 31 years, retiring in 1987. She had no children of her own, but her nieces and nephews were like her children. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister. Survivors include sister, LaVerne Necessary and husband Dwaine; brothers, Ervin Davis and Erwin Davis and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
