Edna Mae Smith

Edna Mae Smith, age 91, of Gatesville, passed away on May 29, 2011 at a McGregor nursing center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-7:00 on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the funeral home. Edna was born on September 12, 1919 at Moccasin Bend in Coryell County, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Louie Wendeborn and Edna Mae Tow Wendeborn. She was raised and attended school in Coryell County. She married Arlice Smith on October 11, 1941. She and Arlice made their home in Coryell County all of their married life residing in the Flat community for ten years before moving to the Turnersville community. Arlice preceded her in death on October 16, 1998. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Cold Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Bobby Lynn Smith, one brother, Clinton Wendeborn, and one sister, Myrtle Winfield. Edna is survived by daughters, Carol Ann Wolff of Temple, Alta Jean Marty of Gatesville, and Connie Rae Attaway of Gatesville; sisters, Wanda Manning of Pearl, Louise Blunschi of Lorena, and Jewell Domenic of Midway; grandchildren, Rick Jensen, Melanie Young, Chirstina Sabourin, Heather Wolff, Jeanetta Stone, Scott Carson and Jamie Hanks; and ten great grandchildren.
