Margaret (Top) Turner

Margaret (Top) Turner, age 86, of Gatesville, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 11, 2011. Services are scheduled for 2 PM Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Scotts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dave Barclay officiating. Burial will follow at Turnersville Cemetery. There is no set visitation time. Margaret was born on June 6, 1925 in the Hay Valley Community of Coryell County, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Alvin (Hub) and Minnie May Glaze Franks. Margaret grew up in Coryell County and went to school in Coryell County. She married Lloyd Deward Turner May 17, 1944. They resided in Gatesville. He preceded her in death on August 25, 1977. Margaret was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church. She and her husband owned and operated Top’s Laundry and Turner’s Pecan Sheller. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, camping and fishing. Survivors include sons, Alvin L. Turner and wife Doris of Bryan and Lloyd Wayne Turner and wife Barbara of Gatesville; three grandchildren, Pamela Carter, Robbie Turner and David Turner and 5 great grandchildren.
