Jack Webb

Jack Webb, age 86, of Plano, formerly of Moody, passed away Saturday July 2, 2011 at his residence in Plano, Texas. Graveside service with full Military Honors is scheduled for 10 A. M. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Pendleton Cemetery in Pendleton, Texas with Rev. William A. Sterling officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville, Texas. Jack was born January 7, 1925 in Pendleton, Texas. He was the son of Joseph Henry Webb and Elsie Reece Chaney Webb. Jack entered in United States Navy in 1942 at the age of 17. He was a member of the VODKA Squad. Jack also served in the United States Air Force, Army National Guard and as a Reserve in the Army. He also served in World War II as an Aviation Radio Operator and Instructor. Jack retired from the Military, LTV (Aerospace, Arlington, TX) and from M & M Mars in Waco, Texas. Jack married Betty Lou McDonald on November 10, 1950. He moved to Mother Neff State Park in 1976 and in February he moved to Plano to be closer to his family. He was a coin, pen and Pencil collector. Jack and Betty were members of Mike Kuzenka and the Country Sounds playing for Senior Dances throughout the area until his health declined. He was inducted into The Gatesville Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008. Annually he would meet with the members of his Navy Vodka Squad to share fun and memories. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and caregiver to his family. Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Betty Lou (McDonald) Webb on January 25, 2010; parents, Joseph Henry Webb and Elsie Reece (Chaney) Webb; brother, Joe Webb of Waco, Texas; sister, Maureen Grimes of Andrew, Texas. Survivors include children, Larry Dale Webb and wife Sheila of Waco, Texas, Richard Wayne Webb of Waco, Texas and Charlotte Jean LeMay and husband Richard of McKinney, Texas; three grandchildren, Morgan Perez, Carrie Waldrip and Ethan Pence; three step-grandchildren, Robert LeMay, Michelle LeMay and Amber LeMay; three great grandchildren, Alexis Perez, Jaidan Perez and Mateo Perez; sister, LaNelle Brady of Temple, Texas and many friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or The Alzheimer’s Association.
