Louis Virgil Smith

Mr. Louis Smith, age 62, of Gatesville, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at his residence. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 15, 2011 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Gatesville City Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 2-4:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Smith was born on February 20, 1949 to the late Arthur Lee Smith and Jewell Cathrine Rasco Smith. He married Peggy Lynn Kelley in Glen Rose, TX on December 13, 1969. He was a Cedar Cutter for 40 years. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Allen Smith; sisters, Vada Kelley, Carolyn Gail Neff, and Clyde Joy Smith; and one grandson, Bradley Ray Smith. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Peggy Smith of Gatesville; sons, Danny Smith and John Smith, of Gatesville; one daughter, Tonya Hoisington and husband Jerald of Gatesville; brothers, Earl Lee Smith and Donnie Ray Smith of San Saba; sister, Jewell Louise Watkins of San Saba; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
