Steve Fincher

Steve Fincher, 59, of Oglesby, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in Temple. Private Graveside Services will be Friday. Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, July 18, 2011 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Bates and Rev. Perry Garrett officiating. Visitation will be at Coryell Community Church following the service. Steve was born on January 4, 1952 in Hill County, TX to late C.C. (Shorty) and Myrtle Hollingsworth Fincher. He grew up and attended school in Palestine. He graduated from Palestine High School in 1970 and graduated from TSTC in 1972. He married Ernestine (Erni) Blum on September 15, 1972 and they resided in the Houston and Huntsville area until moving to Gatesville in 1980. He worked for TDJC for 30 years and retired in November of 2010. He was a member of Eagle Springs Baptist Church. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Zelda Middleton and a brother, Henry Fincher. Steve is survived by his wife, Ernestine (Erni) Fincher; sons, Shorty Fincher and wife Leila of Gatesville; daughter, Holly Underwood of Oglesby; sisters, Virginia McCoy of Waco, Mary Ruth Heffernan of Huntsville; brothers, Jerry C. Fincher of Elkhart, TX and 7 grandchildren, Adara, Judah, Reanna and Chaya Fincher, Joe, Sarah and Jordan Underwood.
