Ivalene Pruitt, age 90, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2011 at a Gatesville nursing center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville with Rev. Willie Clarke officiating. Burial will follow at the Weaver Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Ivalene was born on August 29, 1920 in Liberty, TX to the late David Wilson and Trutie Franklin Wilson. She attended school in Whitehall. She married Nolan Pruitt in 1939 and they made their home in Turnersville. She sewed for numerous people and helped her husband on the farm. She later worked at the State School for Boys and at Walls Mtfg in Gatesville and Clifton. She loved following her children in sports and was very involved in their school activities. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and later attended the Methodist Church in Turnersville. She was preceded in death by her husband Nolan Pruitt. Ivalene is survived by a son, Larry Pruitt and wife Cheryel of Jonesboro; daughters, Nelda Gellasch and husband Dick of Gatesville, Louise Wolfe of Waco, Darlene Anderson and husband Andy of Waco, and Barbara Dyer and husband Billy of Jonesboro; siblings, David Wilson, Mary Hill, Faye Pancake, and Sue Phipps; grandchildren, Ricky Wolfe, Rodney Wolfe, Bill Dyer, Jr., Rhonda Battreall, Jill Bartek, Clint Pruitt, and Travis Pruitt; and great grandchildren, Jared and Connor Wolfe, Kevin Mathis, Starr Pruitt, Bella Bartek, and Ariel Gilmore. In Lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to Weaver Chapel Cemetery
