Betty Jean Gallaway LeFan, age 84, of Georgetown, passed away in Wyoming, on Friday, August 19, 2011. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Restland Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled. Betty Jean Gallaway was born in Gatesville, Texas on July 9, 1927. She was the daughter of Horace & Archie Catlett Gallaway; the grand-daughter of Roy & Jonah Catlett, founding members of the Church of Christ in Gatesville. She graduated from Gatesville High School in 1944 and then went to the University of Texas in Austin. Betty lived there when she met her husband, Jack LeFan. Jack & Betty LeFan lived in Houston all of the most important years of their lives where, as a homemaker, she supported Jack in his career and raised their son, Scot. They retired to Georgetown, TX in 1992. In 2007, their son Scot LeFan moved to Cheyenne, WY, and Jack & Betty soon moved there also to keep their small family together. Betty is survived by her husband, Jack LeFan of Georgetown; son, Scot LeFan of Cheyenne, WY and a brother-in-law, Joe Main and wife Connie of Georgetown.
