Mildred Schraeder

Mildred Schraeder, age 79 of Coryell City, passed away on Saturday, September 03, 2011 at her home, with her family by her side. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Coryell City, with Lay Minister Christopher Richmann officiating. Interment will follow at the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday at Scott’s Funeral Home. Mrs. Schraeder was born on August 18, 1932 in Coryell City, to the late Albert and Ella Haack Helm. She was Baptized and Confirmed as a young adult in the Lutheran faith at St. John Lutheran Church in Coryell City. She married Bennie Schraeder on May 9, 1953 and they made their home in Coryell City all their married life. Mildred worked for Walls Manufacturing in Gatesville for twelve years and at Smead Manufacturing in McGregor for twenty two years, retiring in 2002. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and gardening and cherished cooking for her family on Sunday afternoons. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by infant twin sisters, Verdell and Estell Helm; one brother, Irvin Helm; son-in-law, Donny Brown; and two grandchildren, Amberly Schraeder and Roger Horsley. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bennie Schraeder; four daughters, Betty Ayers, Joyce Rhoades and husband Kenneth, Janet Ayres and Sandra Brown, all of Gatesville; two sons, Donald Schraeder and wife Lydia of Huntsville, Larry Schraeder and wife Jodi of Joshua; one brother, Virgil Helm and wife Wanda of DeSoto; one sister-in-law, Irene Helm of Gatesville; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great - grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church, c/o Lorene Jacobs, 9575 FM 929, Gatesville, TX 76528.
