Dorothy Clara Williams, 81, of Gatesville, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in a local care center. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Sweet Home Baptist Church in Gatesville with burial to follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Friday at Scott’s Funeral Home. Dorothy Clara Williams was born on October 28, 1929 in Bastrop, TX to the late Willie and Lou Ellie Hasty. She moved to Gatesville while a teenager and completed High School. She retired as supervisor at Walls Manufacturing after 30 years. Dorothy was a member of the Sweet Home Baptist Church for over 60 years where served on the Usher Board. She will be remembered for being a devoted mother to her son Howard. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Dorothy is survived by her son, Howard Williams and wife Sue of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Andre Perkins of San Antonio, Robert Thompson of San Antonio; niece, Patricia Devaughn of Elgin, TX and a host of relatives and friends. The family also would like to acknowledge her special nephew and niece, Elder Lee Oits and Desisie Ford, her former Pastor, Willie Earl Clarke and her special friends, Claudia Carroll and Pearline Knox and Robert Gilbert, Pastor at Sweet Home Baptist Church.
