Paula Kathleen Bromser Galvan, age 61 of Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on September 22, 2011 at her home. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville, with James Baize officiating. Paula was born on June 8, 1950 in Colorado Springs, CO, to Byrd Ann Hollingsworth Bromser and the late Paul Bromser. She attended elementary school in Erlangen, Germany and in Gatesville. She graduated from Gatesville High School with honors in 1968. She married her first husband, Thomas R. Easley in 1970. She realized her long-time dream of becoming a nurse, when she graduated from Mary-Hardin Baylor University in 1982 as an RN, with a B.S. in Nursing. In 1986, she married Fernando R. Galvan and they lived in Houston, later moving to Richmond, VA. Paula was a member of the management staff of Bon Secours Hospice in Richmond, VA, at the time of her death. She was an avid animal lover; she also wrote poetry and often started the day reading a selection to her staff. She was preceded in death by a niece, Bradie Robertson in 1998, her father Paul in 2005 and her husband Fernando in 2007. She is survived by her mother, Byrd Ann Bromser of Gatesville; daughter, Susannah Kerns and husband John of Glen Allen, VA; son, Jeb Easley and wife Donna of Johnson City, TN; three sisters, Sherry Scott of Austin, Leah Bromser-Kloeden and husband Martin of Purcellville, VA, April Robertson and husband Randy of Gatesville; four grandchildren, Lily and John “Jake” Kerns, Walker and Alexander “Alex” Easley; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be given to a Ronald McDonald House of your choice.
