Elva Imo Medart, age 97, of Pearl, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011 at a local nursing center. Services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Pearl Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Imo was born October 27, 1913 in Pearl, Texas. She was the daughter of William Thomas Keeton and Elva Myrtle Freeman. Imo attended school in Pearl. She married Otha Medart on July 8, 1933 in Pearl, Texas. She worked with her husband raising cattle and Angora goats. Imo loved to work with Flowers. She was a homemaker and a member of the Purmela Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Roger Medart and a daughter, Joan Blanchard. Survivors include son, Ronald Medart and wife Glennyth; daughter-in-law, Deanna Medart; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Pearl Community Center or to the charity of your choice.
