Gladys Chastain

Mrs. Gladys Chastain, age 86, of Gatesville, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at her residence. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 24, 2011 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Grossman officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-7:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Gladys was born at Brown’s Creek in Coryell County, TX on June 3, 1925 to the late Jesse Earl Keener and Nora Alma Hopson Keener. She married Ernest Lee Boynton, Sr. on March 12, 1946. She married David R. Chastain on February 14, 1982. Gladys was co-owner and bookkeeper for Boynton Trucking Firm for 40 years. She lived in Lewisville, TX from 1949-1985. She was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church. Gladys was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest Lee Boynton, Sr. and David R. Chastain, and one sister Phay Nell Bledsoe. Gladys is survived by a son, Lee Boynton; sisters, Linda Brice, Sue Burdett, Sharon Evetts, and Delores Billman; and grandchildren, Susan Nase, Terry Boynton, Buddy Miller, Cindy Melton, and Teena Nelson. In Lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to Eastwood Baptist Church in Gatesville, the Gatesville Masonic Lodge # 197, or to the American Legion Post 426, Alvarado, Texas.
