Bobby Ray Carpenter

Mr. Bobby Carpenter, age 73, of Gatesville, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2011 in a Temple hospital. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Restland Cemetery, with Rev. Willie Clarke officiating. Bobby was born on July 10, 1938 in Ft. Worth, Texas to the late Raymond Andrew and Lela Jane Williams Carpenter. He attended school in Hurst and served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1958 in the South Pacific and Egypt. Bobby was an auto mechanic from 1969 to 1972 for the City of Gatesville and worked as a ranch hand for Morris Ashby. He worked in appliance repair from 1990 until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his sisters, Gloria Simpson of Ft. Worth, Betty Davis of Englewood, Kansas, Glenda Carpenter of Bowie and JoAnn Hayes of Alvarado.
