David G. Parks

David G. Parks, age 53 of Gatesville, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2011 at a local hospital. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Edward Schaub and Jim Hall officiating. Burial will follow at the Pearl Cemetery. There will be no scheduled visitation. David was born on March 29, 1958 in Port Arthur, Texas to Peggy Ballard Parks and the late Charles S. Parks. David grew up in Port Arthur and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He also graduated from Lamar Jr. College. He worked as an Audio Engineer for KJAC Television in Pt. Arthur for 10 years before becoming disabled. In his younger years, David loved to hunt and fish. He also found great joy in helping others. David was baptized in 1974 at the Proctor Street Church of Christ. David always loved his Lord. He was preceded in death by his loving father, Charles S. Parks. David is survived by his mother Peggy Parks of Gatesville; a brother Ricky Parks of Gatesville; 4 aunts, Betty Jo Wilson of Gatesville, Peggy Ann Ballard of Round Rock and Pauline Anderson and Bonell Anderson, both of Dahlenega,Georgia; one uncle, Leroy Parks and wife Sarah of Dahlenega, Georgia; two cousins, Michael Powell of Plano and Ron Ballard and wife Laura of Garland; and many cousins of Dahlenega, Georgia. In Lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to the Gatesville Church of Christ Youth Ministry or to the Pearl Cemetery Assn.
