Adelle Jones

Adelle Jones, 96, of Gatesville passed away at a hospital in Round Rock on January 8, 2012. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Gurley officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Adelle was born November 4, 1915 in Coryell County to the late John and Anna Bell Zeigler Bone. After completing High School in Gatesville in 1933 she attended Durhams Business School in Denison. She married Preston “Badger” Jones in Gatesville. Adelle retired after 35 years from the US Dept of Agriculture. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church and worked tirelessly as a volunteer for many organizations including the Gatesville Care Center. Adelle was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Preston Jones and a brother, Blaine Bone. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Pence, of Georgetown; nephews, Carl Bone and wife, Bonnie, of Georgetown, and David Bone and wife, Nancy, of Hewitt. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Gatesville.
