Margaret Dayton Roberts, age 60 of Grand Prairie, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at her residence. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Buckhorn Cemetery in Moody, with Rev. William Sterling officiating. Margaret was born on November 4, 1951 in Manhattan, New York to George Wood and the late Mary McDonald Dayton. She has resided in Grand Prairie for nearly forty years. She graduated as Valedictorian in 1970 from Sam Houston High School of Arlington. She graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington and went on to medical school in pursuit of becoming a doctor. During her internship, she decided instead to travel the United States by driving a truck for Frozen Food Express Transportation Services, Inc. She retired from FFE and was recognized for driving over one million miles accident free. Margaret’s heart was always with her family, which included a strong tie to the McDonald farm at Mother Neff State Park. She grew up loving to spend time with her grandparents, Russell and Lizzie McDonald. She also loved her pets, in particular her Labrador Jessie, which we will see has a good home. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Dayton on December 16, 2005 and her brother, Russell Dayton on January 27, 2005. She is survived by her father, George Dayton of Gatesville; aunts, Peggy Fernandez of Manchester, Maryland, Sue McDonald of Temple, Carlene McDonald of Moody and a host of relatives and friends who loved her very much.
