Laura Mae Cole

Laura Mae Cole age 83 of Gatesville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 in Gatesville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2012 at Eastwood Baptist Church of Gatesville, with Pastor Matt Richard officiating. Burial will follow at the Mound Cemetery. There will be no set time for visitation. She was born on July 24, 1928 and grew up in the Oenaville community of Bell County. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Maud Boyd Anderson. She graduated from Oenaville High School in 1946. She married Kerney Cole on January 13, 1947. They moved to Gatesville in 1951, where they made their home. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1989. She was a telephone operator and retired from Gulf States Telephone Company in 1973. She was a charter member of Eastwood Baptist Church. Her brothers, Lee Roy Anderson and Billy Anderson, also preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Geneva Moore and husband Jimmie of Mound; sons, Allen Cole and wife Cathy of Boerne, Ronnie Cole and wife Nawata of Gatesville; seven grandchildren, Daren Moore, Nicole Gohlke, Codie Warren, Shawn Cole, Christopher Cole, Ryan Cole and Travis Cole; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, J. D. Anderson of Temple, Thomas Anderson and wife Jane of Kingwood; sisters, Nora Forrest of Rosebud and Thetty Mae Andries of Alexandria, LA. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated to Eastwood Baptist Church, 2518 E. Main St., Gatesville 76528 or the Mound Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 177, Mound, TX 76558.
