Julious Albert McLaughlin

Julious Albert (Mac) McLaughlin, 99, of Gatesville passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2012 in Gatesville. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Ben Winder officiating. Burial will follow on Monday in Conroe, Texas at Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to service. Mac was born on March 1, 1912 in Gatesville, TX to the late Jesse and Annie Hunt McLaughlin. Mac served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1944. He met Inez Matchett in Houston and on April 5, 1947 they were married. Inez preceded him in death in 1993. Mac worked for Brown and Root Oil Company for 45 years as a welder. Upon his retirement he and Inez settled in Conroe, TX until her death. Mac moved to Gatesville in the late 1990’s. Julious is survived by his nephews, Grady McLaughlin and wife Donna of Gatesville, Noel McLaughlin of Coco Beach, FL; nieces, Margie Beechley and husband Charles of Jonesboro, Dorothy Mason and husband Laverne of Jonesboro, Sybil Roe of McGregor, Barbara Wright and husband George of Houston, Joyce Ballard of Waco and Anne Klecka of Gatesville and a host of other extended family members.
