Eva Mae Cook, age 84, of Gatesville, passed away Sunday, February, 26, 2012, at a local hospital. Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Turnersville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Eva was born May 6, 1927 in Gatesville, Texas. She was the daughter of the late George William and Gladys Beaty Price. She was reared in the Ewing Community. The family relocated to Gatesville in 1942 when Ewing and surrounding communities became part of Camp Hood. Eva graduated from Gatesville High School in 1945. She married Harold Cook on April 7, 1950. She and Harold lived in San Diego in 1958 and 1959. They moved back to Texas in 1961 and built a home on Coryell Creek. She worked as a clerk for Civil Service from 1945 until 1956 at Fort Hood, Texas. She later worked for Indigent Health Care System in Gatesville. Eva was a home maker and a member of the White Hall Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Ponice Smith and Doris Phillips; and two brothers, Bill J. Price and Wayne Price; sister-in-law, Martha Laxson Price. Survivors include sons, Gregory P. Cook and Bryan Cook and wife Marieta Feliano; brother, Perry Price and wife Janice; sister-in-law, Betty Price; grandchildren, Erika Mae Feliano, Shannon Tilley, and Terrell Tilley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
