Carol Ann Kerr, age 66, of Jonesboro, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2012, at a Temple hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, March 9th at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville, Texas. A Memorial Service will also be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 11th at the Blair United Methodist Church in Blair, Oklahoma. Carol was born on August 13, 1945 in Altus, Oklahoma to the late Hershel McGinnis and Lillie Mae Duke McGinnis. Carol attended school in Altus, Oklahoma and graduated from Friendship High School in 1963. While in high school she played on the Basketball team in 1962-63 when they won the Oklahoma State Championship. She was also selected to the All State 2nd team that same year in Oklahoma. She received an Associate Degree from Western Oklahoma State College, a BS in Teaching from North Texas in Denton, and a Master’s degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State. Carol taught 6th grade in Blair, Oklahoma for over 20 years. She moved to Marlin ISD where she taught 6th grade Science for 3 years. She transferred to the Wyndham School District in Gatesville, Texas where she has been for the last 7 years. Carol loved horses and all animals. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Barbara Jones. Carol is survived by her daughter WayLynn Gonzales and husband Jesse Gonzales of Jonesboro, Texas.
