Roger Dale Whitley

Roger Dale Whitley age 66 of Gatesville, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at his home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Restland Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 6 P.M. Friday, May 11th at the funeral home. Roger was born September 11, 1945 in Hamlin, Texas. He was the son of the late Hubert and Lorene Whitley. He grew up in Hamlin and New Mexico. He served his country doing two tours of duty in Vietnam in the Army and one tour of duty in the Navy. He moved to Gatesville in 1989. He married Carol Nichols in 2008. He was a Baptist. He is survived by his wife Carol of Gatesville; daughter, Becky Whitley of Gatesville; brothers, Lee Whitley of Gatesville, Mike Smith and wife, Katy of Gatesville; granddaughter, Olivia Madison Lynn Thorman; nieces, Kili Elizabeth Ann Smith Gaisbauer, Carrie Whitley; nephew, Brian Whitley.
