Dorothy Jean Haney

Dorothy Haney, age 70, passed away at a local hospital on May 14, 2012 in Gatesville. Funeral Services will be at Denton Valley Baptist Church at 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 19, 2012 with a visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Kendrick Cemetery. There will also be a visitation in Gatesville at Scott’s Funeral Home on Friday, May 18, 2012 from 5-7 PM. Dorothy was born on March 13, 1942 in Bellflower, CA to the late Raymond and Eddie Lee Ham Allen. She lived most of her life in Abilene, TX where she retired from the Abilene State School after 22 years. She lived in Gatesville the past 10 years where she was a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church. She loved spending time with the Lord, which gave her peace with Him and everyone. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Dorothy is survived by her children, Gregory Tennison of Eula, TX , Julia Steele of Clyde, TX, Shane Nixon of Abilene, TX, David Tennison and wife, Stacey of Gatesville, TX; sister, Rosie Franklin of Comfort, TX; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
