Darrel Martin

Derral Martin, age 56 of Rockdale, passed away on July 14, 2012 in Temple. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the White Church Cemetery in Glen Rose. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday at Scott’s Funeral Home. Derral was born on April 13, 1956 in Houston. He grew up in Houston and Magnolia. He served in the U.S. Army, retiring after 20 years of service. He was an accomplished musician, playing the guitar, among other instruments. He had an interest in motorcycles and stock cars. He was a mechanic and enjoyed the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Ray and Patricia Martin and James P. Dockens; and two brothers, Robby Martin and Robert Dockens. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Dockens of Portland, TX; two sons, Ray Martin and wife Charolette of Smith, AL, Billy Martin and wife Kristi of Tomball, TX; four daughters, Aimee Bell and husband T.J. of Rockdale, TX, April Maze and husband D.J. of Milano, TX, Cheyenne Martin and Brittany Martin of Marshfield, MO; two sisters, Julie Ashby and husband Craig of Odem, TX, Audrey Nixon and husband Haskell of Gary, TX; three brothers, Eugene Martin and wife Cindy of Gatesville, James R. Dockens of Waxahachie, TX, Kenneth Dockens and wife Karen of Waxahachie, TX; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
