Robert Gail Altum

Robert Gail Altum, age 84, of Copperas Cove, Texas, passed away at his home on July 17, 2012. Services are scheduled for 11:00 Am Friday, July 20, 2012 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel in Gatesville. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral Home. Gail was born, November 9, 1927 in Flat, Texas. He was the son of Samuel Paul Altum and Jessie Ada Lee Altum. He married Ima Gene Stuteville on July 7th 1950 in Gatesville, Texas. Gail was a Masonry Contractor in the Central Texas area for many years. He has lived in Copperas Cove since 1956. Gail was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Norma Dworsky. Survivors include his wife, Ima Gene Altum of Copperas Cove,; sons, Kenneth Altum of Owl Creek, Tommy Altum and wife Gretchen of Copperas Cove, Frankie Altum and wife Angelika (Gig) of Copperas Cove, J. R. Altum of Georgetown, Gary Altum and wife Teresa of Lampasas County; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Paul Altum, Chris Altum, Corey Altum, Juston Altum, John Altum and Ryan Altum. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Clear Creek Baptist Church, 3350 FM 2657, Kempner, Texas, 76539-8068.
