He was raised by his mother and step father, Nute Rutherford. He married Jewel Thompson on November 24, 1954 in Wink, TX. Charlie was a great and loving father not only to his own children but to many. He had a great love for welding and was a welder for most of his life. He taught many of the men on both sides of the family how to weld; who then passed this knowledge onto their children. He got to see the world as he traveled from pipeline to pipeline. He was a member of the Pipeline Union Associations #798 for 45 years. He was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to all. He was a Shriner, a 33rd degree Mason and a proud member of the Masonic Lodge. He was well known for saying that he could weld anything but the crack of dawn and a broken heart. He wanted all of you to know 3’s to you. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father; his wife, Jewel; daughter, Shelia Floyd; son-in-law, Jim Kelems; brother, Lee Roy Floyd and wife Edna Floyd; sister, Doris Nissen; brother-in-law, Clifford Logan and wife Jean Logan; sister-in-law, Melda Felton and nephews Roy Floyd and Wayne Logan. He is survived by his daughter, Vickie Kelems; brother, Eule David Rutherford; sister, Jewel Halamicek; brother-in-law, Felton Thompson; grandchildren, Danielle Englund and husband Chris, Desira Kelems, Ian Stewart, and Lawson Stewart; great grandchild, Darian Russell and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
