Cecil Jackson, longtime resident of Port Arthur, TX, passed away Wednesday July 25th at the age of 94. Graveside Services are scheduled for 11 AM Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Turnersville Cemetery. He will be laid to rest alongside his partner and wife, Frankie (Wright), his sweetheart of 7l years also, of Turnersville. Cecil was born September 28, 1917 to Will (WT) and Irene Glaze Jackson of Coryell County. He was raised in the Turnersville area; graduating from Turnersville High School. After marrying, Cecil and Frankie moved to Port Arthur, Texas where he worked for Gulf Oil Corp for over 30 years, retiring as a unit foreman. He was a 32nd degree Mason of Port Arthur Cosmopolitan Lodge , achieving 60 years of membership. Cecil is survived by his daughter, Penny Jackson of Hudson, NY and in Port Arthur, TX the last four years as his caregiver. He is also survived by his son, Cecil Ray Jackson and wife, Beverly of Kyle, TX; grandchildren, Lori Gibson and her husband John of Houston, TX., Cecil Ray Jackson Jr. and his wife Julie of Lufkin, TX, Clint Jackson and wife Mary of Austin TX., Cindy Clauson and husband Russell of Spicewood, TX. He’s also survived by great grandchildren, John Trey and Tyger of Houston, TX, Randy of Lufkin TX., and Cory and Katy of Spicewood, TX. Cecil was the oldest surviving cousin of his grandfather’s large family and is survived by many Jackson cousins throughout Texas and beyond. They meet every year in Troy, TX. Cecil was preceded in death by his wife, mother and father, and a sister, Hazel who died of tetanus at the age of seven when he was about ten years old. Mr. Jackson and his wife were both victims of Alzheimer’s disease and should you wish to make a donation in their memory to Alzheimer’s research (an organization of your choice), it would be greatly appreciated.
