Truett Hopson

Truett Hopson, age 85 of the Mound community, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2012 surrounded by his family in Temple. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the Coryell Community Church, with Rev. Bruce Cox officiating. Interment will follow at the Mound Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday at Scott’s Funeral Home. He was the son of the late Ruby Sedwick and Pearl Whitten Hopson. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Julie Ann Hopson; sister, Lanetta Sue Hopson; brothers, Alvin, Paul, Dan, Pat, Robert and Jack Oliver Hopson. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois Hopson; daughters, Margaret Jo Hopson, Nancy Dixon and husband Kenneth, Barbara Sue Hopson; sons, David Hopson and wife Pam, Frank Hopson and wife Susie, Loyd Hopson and wife Kari; sisters, Ruby Merle Davidson, Neva Groat and husband John; brothers, Gayle Hopson and wife LaRue, Hal Hopson and wife Martha, Rex Hopson; 16 grandchildren, Daniel Wood and Fiancé Linda, Lizzi Howell and husband Jon, Angie Cupps and husband Kevin, Sara Poynter and husband Chad, Kari Belt and husband Brandon, Holly Pullen and husband Kyle, Jeb Dixon and wife Desiree, Kelli McPherson and husband Mark, Amanda Cargill and husband Mike, Paul Hopson and Fiancé Rachel Edwards, Summer McClellan and husband Kyle, McKenzie Hopson, Hugo Quintero, Pedro Quintero, Kennedie Hyde, Tristan Hopson, Katie Sue Hopson; and 10 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be given to White Mound Baptist Church, P.O. Box 103, Mound, TX 76558 or the Gatesville Boys and Girls Club, 207 South 7th St., Gatesville, TX 76528. Pallbearers will be Daniel Wood, Jeb Dixon, Paul Hopson,Tristan Hopson, Pedro Quintero, Hugo Quintero, Jesse Quiroz, Mark McPherson and Kevin Cupps.
