Curtis G. Watson, 93, of McGregor passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Scott’s Funeral Home with burial to follow at Jonesboro Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Curtis was born on October 8, 1918 in Coryell County to the late Rube and Myrtle Scott Watson. He attended school in Jonesboro and joined the United States Army and served our country for 6 years. He married Esther Mount in 1941, whom he met while stationed in New Jersey. They relocated to Coryell County where they farmed, ranched and had a service station for several years. She preceded him in death in 1985. He was fortunate enough to have met and fallen in love with Boots Coward and they married 1997. Curtis was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, holding offices at all levels. He was also active in Turnersville and Gatesville promoting and supporting community activities. Curtis is survived by his wife, Boots Watson; daughters, Rosalie Collins, Anita Jones, Coleta Morris and husband, Punk; son, Jimmy Coward; brother, Bill Watson and wife, Shirley; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
