James Nelson Barcroft

Nelson Barcroft, age 60, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Grace Assembly Church, with the Rev. Wray Nunn officiating. Lunch and fellowship will follow the service at the church. Nelson Barcroft was born in Hico, Texas to C. P. & Rene Barcroft. He married Alice Barnes on August 11, 1973. He served his country in the Army from 1973 to 1976. He loved working outdoors and retired from the City of Gatesville in 2000. Nelson never met a stranger. He enjoyed living on his farm and loving his grandchildren since his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ann Kelly; and a niece. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Alice Barcroft; son, Jack Barcroft and wife, Faith of Gatesville; brothers, Doyle Barcroft of Arlington,TX and Gary Barcroft of Lake Fork,TX; sisters, Sue Krueger of Hamilton, TX and Janie Airheart of Arlington, TX; and grandchildren, Aubrey and Megan Barcroft.
