Colleen Rogers

Colleen Rogers, age 87, of Gatesville, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012, at a local nursing center. Graveside services are scheduled for 10 AM Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Ater Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Colleen was born, September 26, 1924 in Freestone County. She was the daughter of the late Wiley Thomas Wilson and Mary Goldie Hufffman Wilson. Colleen married T. L. “Boy” Rogers September 2, 1944 in Gatesville, Texas. She worked at the State School for Boys which later became TDCJ from which she retired. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Ann Scott; sister, Nelwyn Wilson and her parents. Survivors include her husband, T. L. ‘Boy” Rogers; son, Don Rogers and wife Sharon; son-in-law, Jim Scott; grandchildren, Valorie Rogers, Garrett Rogers, Owen Rogers, Kent Scott and wife Liane and Jerry Scott and wife Nicole; great grandchildren, William Scott, Ella Scott, Lucy Scott, Broc Tullis and Tenley Scott. Pallbearers will be Garrett Rogers, Owen Rogers, Kent Scott, Jerry Scott, William Scott and Broc Tullis. Memorials may be made to the Ater Cemetery Association.
