Elizabeth Lengefeld

Elizabeth Lengefeld, age 86, of Gatesville passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at a local nursing facility. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers Loyd Hall and Jim Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Hemmeline Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 7 pm Friday evening at the funeral home. Elizabeth was born on July 23, 1926 in Gatesville to the late Dawson and Myrtle Ray Williams. She grew up and went to school in Gatesville, Texas. Elizabeth married Lewis Lengefeld on March 24, 1946. She worked at the Gulf States Telephone Company for many years. She also worked at Coryell Memorial Hospital as a PBX Operator. Elizabeth was a guard at the Texas Dept. of Corrections and also worked in the infirmary before retiring. She was a lifetime member of the Gatesville Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis on July 22, 2010; infant children, Lewis Theodore Lengefeld, Jr., and Stephen Francis Lengefeld; and brother, Francis (Bill) Williams. Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Robert Lengefeld and wife, Cynthia of Sugar Land and Wendell Lengefeld and wife, Donna of Round Rock; daughter, Karen Lange and husband, Lynn of Flower Mound; 11 grandchildren; and 2 great-granddaughters.
