Jimmy Wayne "Jim" Lehmberg

Jimmy Wayne (Jim) Lehmberg, age 70, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012 in Houston, TX. Visitation will be 1-2:30PM, Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville, followed by graveside services at 3:00PM at Restland Cemetery. Jim was born on September 17, 1942 in Lampasas, Texas to the late Perry and Florence Lehmberg. Jim lived his early life in Evant, TX and San Diego, CA, while his dad was in the Navy during WWII. The family moved to Gatesville after the war, where Jim lived until he left for college. He graduated from Gatesville High School in 1961, where he played basketball and baseball. He graduated from the University of North Texas in January 1968 with a BBA and became a CPA. Jim worked as an accountant for almost 45 years in Dallas, Houston, Baytown, Texas City, and Stavanger, Norway. He loved his work and was proud of the fact that he was able to work until September of this year. The only thing he enjoyed more than work was his family and golf. Jim was Baptist and most recently attended Second Baptist Church of Houston. He is survived by children, Kim Cantrell, Cheryl Cantrell, Patrick Lehmberg and Jason Lehmberg; grandchildren, Ashley Lehmberg, Lindsey Lehmberg, Sara Schuelke, and Blake Graham; sister and her family, Barbara, Edd, Edward, Clara and Emily Wolff.
