John W. "Johnny Paige" Williams, Jr.

John W. “Johnny Paige” Williams, Jr., age 57, of Gatesville passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013. Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wray Nunn officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, January 11, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00PM. Johnny was born on July 23, 1955 in Gatesville, Texas to John Wilbert Williams, Sr. and Alba Griffin Williams. He was raised in Houston and attended Eisenhower High School, graduating in 1973. Johnny attended Trinity Junior College, graduating as a Master Electrician. He entered the U.S. Marines in 1974, stationed in San Diego, California and Okinawa, Japan. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Lance Corporal. He worked for Cameron Iron Works as a welder. Johnny was able to work as an electrician on the restoration of the Governor’s Mansion of Texas after it burned in the 1980’s. He also worked at Fort Hood as an electrician from 2000 to 2002. Johnny also worked at Richards Appliance Repair in Gatesville. Johnny was a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, John Wilbert Williams, Sr. Johnny is survived by his mother, Alba Williams of Houston, Texas; daughter, Shrecka Clarke of Dallas, Texas; son, John W. Williams, III of Gatesville, Texas; sister, Zella Tamplin of Henderson, Texas; brother, Kevin N. Williams, Sr. of Killeen, Texas; one granddaughter, Olivia Williams of Gatesville, Texas.
