Chester was born at home on June 11, 1931 in Gatesville, Texas to the late Chester C. Sadler, Sr. and Sallie Justiss Sadler. During his early years, Chester spent countless afternoons and weekends on the Cowhouse Creek with his father hunting and fishing with their bird dogs. He attended Gatesville schools where he was an avid tennis player, and because of his sense of humor and an exceptionally kind disposition, he was a favorite among the class of 1948. He continued his education at the University of Texas in Austin, majoring in geology. He spent one summer with his college professor in Big Bend National Park writing a guide for all geological formations in the park. In 1952, he entered the U.S. Army and served a tour of duty. In the late 1950’s, Chester started working with Mobil Oil in Corpus Christi, Texas. For the next 30 years, he traveled with his work, living in New Orleans, Louisiana, Houston, Texas, Austin, Texas and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In 1985, Chester retired from Sabine Oil and moved back to his hometown. In 1989, he married Gaye Pitts Martin and together they built their Gatesville real estate business. During Chester’s retirement years, he loved to bird hunt, fish with his brother-in-law in Colorado, take long car trips and he kept trying to perfect his golf swing. Chester is survived by his wife, Gaye Sadler; children, Homoiselle Sadler Bujosa and husband, Carlos of Houston, Texas, Chester Calhoun Sadler, III of Woodland Park, Colorado and Sallie Justiss Sadler of Moffat, Texas; sisters, Suzanne Sadler Wilson of Richmond, Virginia, Cynthia Sadler Vaughan and husband, Bill of Ingram, Texas; brother, Stanley J.
