Catherine Jones

Catherine Jones, age 93, of Gatesville, formerly of Anson, died Saturday, February 16, 2013. Memorial Services will be 2:00PM, Saturday, February 23, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Flat. Catherine was born on December 20, 1919 in Jones County to the late Commie and Pearl Bobbitt Hinkle. She married Oscar Wesley Jones in Anson on November 6, 1937 and they shared their lives in Jones County. She lived in Jones County for 75 years and had resided in a local nursing facility in Gatesville for the last 18 years. She was a housewife and was known for her talent as a seamstress, making many items for her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, Commie and Pearl Hinkle, her husband, Oscar Jones in 1972, a son, Don Wesley Jones in 1998 and a brother, Alvin Hinkle. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Jean McFarlin and husband, Buck of Flat, TX and Nancy Lee Mooney and husband, Duane of Gatesville, TX; seven grandchildren, Tamie Gebert of Teague, Gary Medford of Waco, Jamie McFarlin of Flat, David Medford of Gatesville, Cindy Blackwell of Gatesville, James Jones of Abilene, and Shannon Jones of Mansfield; several great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; and step-great-grandchildren.
