Susan Patricia Maxwell Pitts, of Oglesby, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Funeral services will be 2:00PM, Friday, February 22, 2013 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Keeling officiating. Burial will follow at Post Oak Cemetery in Oglesby. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00PM, Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the funeral home. Susan Patricia Maxwell was born on November 22, 1952 in Gatesville, Texas to R.M. Maxwell and Dorothy Neatherlin Maxwell. She attended school in Oglesby, graduating in 1971. She married John Pitts on August 17, 1973 at Pecan Grove Baptist Church. She was a dedicated homemaker for her husband and daughter. She also worked at the Oglesby Post Office as a Post Master Relief for five years. In the meantime, Pat and her husband devoted their free time to their daughter's high school and college extra-curricular activities. She never missed a beat. Pat was also a member of Pecan Grove Baptist Church. Pat is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, John E. Pitts; daughter, Jane Evvie; parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Maxwell; sister, Jann Browning and husband, Steve; niece, Sarah Browning-Lopez; nephew, Ryan Browning and wife, Holly; and numerous loving relatives and special friends. Pallbearers: Travis Goodwin, Joe Paul Hamilton, Joel Hamilton, Scott Schultz, Steve Browning, and Tim Fegette. Honorary Pallbearers: F.A. Morris and Ed Dunigan. Special thanks to Scott & White Hospice and Scotts & White Vasicek Cancer Center.
