Marie Chambers, age 85, of Longview, formerly of Gatesville passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013 due to a very long illness. She was cared for by husband, family and many loving angels at Summer Meadows and HeartsWay Hospice. Funeral services will be at 3:30PM, Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Elva Marie (Pafford) Chambers was born March 25, 1927 in San Saba, Texas. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Pafford and Naomi Clark Pafford; several brothers and sisters; and her loving daughter, Judy Blair, of Dallas in 1996. Marie is leaving behind her husband, Charles Weldon Chambers of Longview (formerly of Gatesville, TX); daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Kenneth Hargrove of Longview TX; step-daughter, Brenda and Wesley Williams of Mineral Wells; step-son, George Chambers of Hamilton, TX; sister, Patricia Alsip of Robinson, TX; brothers, Richard Pafford of Turnersville, TX and Bobby Ray Pafford of Ft. Worth, TX; and family and friends of Gatesville and San Saba, TX. She will be missed by many, but such a great loss to her loving grandchildren, Shannon & Daniel Smith of Whitehouse, TX, Chad and Jacki Hargrove of Kilgore, TX and Great Grandchildren Samuel, Joshua, Rachel, Abby and Brayden. For several years we have been blessed to have Janie Darden as a dependable and loving caregiver. We could not have traveled this journey without her. Marie (Nannie) was a mother and grandmother to many friends and family. Marie will be laid to rest in Gatesville, TX March 16, 2013 at 3:30 pm. The drive to Gatesville is too far for many; therefore, Kenneth and Lynda Hargrove will be hosting a "CELEBRATION OF LIFE" gathering at their home to honor her long loving life at 2:00 pm Sunday March 31, 2013, Longview, TX. We would love her friends and family to join together to honor this AMAZING WOMAN! Marie will be missed by many that were so blessed to have had her in their lives. We want to express our appreciation for the love you have shown to the family with cards, phone calls and visits. Your friendship has been the best medicine for our hearts.
