Michael (Mickey) Mercer

Michael (Mickey) Mercer, age 68, of Gatesville passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013. Graveside services will be at 1:00PM, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery and Michael’s uncle, Floyd Spradley, and Dr. Michael Haynes will be officiating. Michael was born on October 28, 1944 in Slaton, Texas. He served in the US Navy for four years. He was a Vietnam veteran. He is survived by a son, Cody Mercer of San Antonio; mother, Obera Godwin of Gatesville; sister, Karla Reaves and husband, Les of Gatesville; nephew, Jim Reaves of Austin; niece, Karen Reaves of Austin; and many cousins and friends. The family is so grateful to Hillside Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, Scott & White Hospital, and Scott & White Hospice for the love and care given to Michael during his illness.
