Gladys Louisa Walker Geye

Gladys Louisa Walker Geye, age 94, of Jonesboro passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013. Graveside services will be at 2:00PM, Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Phillips Cemetery in Dripping Springs, Texas. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00PM, Friday, March 29, 2013 at the funeral home. Gladys was born on July 25, 1918 in Williamson County, Texas to the late William and Leora Bratton Turner. She was raised and attended school in Pflugerville, Texas. Gladys married Clarence Alfred Walker on September 5, 1935 and they resided in Houston for 48 years. She was an elevator operator at the Harris County Courthouse for many years, retiring in 1984. After she retired, she and her husband moved to Jonesboro and he preceded her in death on February 26, 1987. Gladys was a very avid domino player. She married Coman Geye and they made their home near Gustine. Gladys was a member of Jonesboro Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by sons, Clarence Walker, Jr. and Jerry Walker. Gladys is survived by her husband, Coman Geye; son, Jimmy Walker of Jonesboro; one grandson, Jerry L. Walker, Jr.; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Jarrod.
