Sarah Ann Perkins, age 72, of Leon Junction passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Connie Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Smith-King Cemetery near Mound. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00PM, Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the funeral home. Sarah was born January 4, 1941 in Lampasas, Texas to the late William Edward (Eddie) and Edna Woodall Gober. She grew up in and around Flat, Texas. In 1957, she married Walter Waller and they had seven sons together. Sarah met her current husband, Alford Ray Perkins, while they both attended grade school in Flat. They were married on December 2, 2000. "Momma", as she was known to many that loved her, never knew a stranger and often told people she loved them and God bless you. Sarah loved to cook and all forms of the arts, especially painting. One of her works hangs in the Flat Community Center. An opinionated woman, she never failed to visit the sick and imprisoned, and prayed unerringly at every meal for those in service. Sarah is preceded in death by her parents; Eddie and Edna; brother, Alvin (Buddy) Gober; sisters, Frankie Hendrix, Dorethy Smith and Faye Schrum; and great-grandson, Ricky Joe Waller II. She is survived by her husband, Alford; children, Ray Waller of Fort Worth, Alvin Waller of Ohio, William Waller of Gatesville, Charles, Bobby, Tommy, and Gary Waller of Leon Junction and Alford Ray Perkins, Jr. of Temple; sisters, Bettie Richards of Collingsville, Joyce Shipman of Tucson, AZ., June Dennis of Fort Worth, Kathy Gober of Kingman, AZ., Nelda Sellers of Brownwood, and Rosie Hamilton of Hurricane Mills, TN.; 24 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
