Bertha Jones

Bertha Jones, age 84, of Gatesville passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Funeral services will be 2:00PM, Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Bertha was born on November 14, 1928 in Gatesville, Texas to the late Calvin and Olena Holden Ussery. She attended Gatesville schools, graduating from Gatesville High School in 1946. She married Virgil (Boney) Jones on February 8, 1947. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1986. Bertha worked for Jones and Glovers Cleaners as a seamstress and was a beauty operator for many years. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Bertha is survived by her children, Kenneth Jones and wife, Janie of Gatesville, Texas, Larry Jones and wife, Brenda of China Springs, Texas, Bonita Hunt and husband, Steve of Pittsburg, Texas; brother, Calvin Ussery and wife, Bessie of Glendale, AZ; grandchildren, Jason Jones, Kenna Jones Card, Sheri Maldonado, Joey Culpepper, Jeremy Jones, Stevie Higuera, Kaylan Hunt, and Bethany Hunt; and eight great-grandchildren.
