Michael Wayne Kuzenka

Michael “Mike” Wayne Kuzenka, age 58, passed away peacefully at his home on March 28, 2008. Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, March 31, 2008 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 4 to 6 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mike was born September 14, 1949 to the late John and Eunice Kuzenka. He moved to Gatesville with his parents in the late 50’s and never left. He married his beautiful wife on June 17, 1967. Mike became a Master Plumber and opened M. W. Kuzenka Plumbing. He had a very successful business for 35 years until he had to retire due to his illness. Mike also started his own band “Mike Kuzenka and the Country Sounds”. He loved playing, especially for the seniors. He liked giving the senior’s something to do to stay young. Mike loved each and every member he had in the band throughout the years. He thought of his band members as a second family. Mike never met a stranger and always had some joke to tell you. Mike loved his community. He loved doing things for the community like when he started “The Gatesville Jamboree”. He will be remembered as a kind, caring person but most of all The Best “PaPa” a grandchild could have. He loved having his grandkids around either playing outside with them, taking them to the park or even to Dairy Queen to get some ice cream. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda of Gatesville, sons; Michael Kuzenka of Benbrook, TX, Vance Kuzenka of Temple, daughter; Tina Snoddy and husband Wade of Gatesville, brother; Johnny James Kuzenka and wife Addie of Gatesville, sister; Shiela Lisenby and husband Doug of Gatesville, five grandchildren, Lauren, Katie, Ryan, Samantha and Harlee, numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved all dearly. Memorials may be made to The Gatesville Revival Center, The Gatesville Country Music Hall of Fame or Vista Care Hospice.
